Middleham Open Day 2017

The busy racing centre of Middleham has been home to racehorses in training for more than two-hundred years. The town’s racing industry continues to thrive with 400 plus winners having been trained there each year for the past 38 years. There are currently 15 training yards located in and around the town.

Middleham Open Day will give racing fans and local people the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the many yards opening their doors including those of Mark Johnston, Karl Burke, Micky Hammond and James Bethell amongst others.

After meeting racehorses, stable staff and trainers at open yards in the morning, visitors will be able to enjoy attractions on Low Moor in the afternoon afterwards which will include a competitive run.

As the organisers of the event, Racing Welfare will be the main beneficiary charity of the Open Day, with a proportion of the funds raised also going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.
